Advise to players on how to respond to tough interview questions:

On playing travel ball....
1 - "I am just happy to be here and contribute to the team"

On the playoffs ....
2 - "We need to play them one game at a time"

On possible matchup with Westfield White...
3 - "It's just another game and we need to play our game no matter who the opponent is"

On possible matchup with Branchburg or Summit...

"It's just another game and we need to play our game no matter who the opponent is"

How do you feel about that Hillsborough game?

"AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!"

What do you think are the keys to winning?

"Scoring more runs than the other team helps"

Who had the most impact on your performance this year? Your mom or dad or the head coach?

"I would have to say that while those people certainly helped, I think our official scorekeepers were really our secret weapon. That and maybe sunflower seeds"

additional advice on how to respond to scorekeeper questions (if you prefer routine misplays to continue to be scored as extra base hits)...

"We have the best scorekeepers in the league. They are the ones that keep this team on track and deserve most of the credit when we play well."

The baseball gods must be watching over the coaches. The cancellation of tonight's practice means that I can go out to dinner and celebrate my wife's birthday.
